Ecovadis Gold Rating 2019

As in previous years, Evonik is thus one of the best companies rated by EcoVadis not only in the chemical industry but also in all other industry sectors.

Evonik is founding member of the initiative “Together for Sustainability” (TfS) of the chemical industry. Once a year Evonik undergoes the “Corporate Social Sustainability Assessment” of EcoVadis, the partner of the initiative.

The sustainability performance of companies is assessed in four dimensions “Environment”, “Labor and Human Rights”, “Ethic” and “Sustainable Procurement”. The assessment also integrates relevant publicly available information from over 2500 sources.

The initiative aims to foster transparency and sustainability in global supply chains by standardizing the assessments and audits of suppliers worldwide. Initially, the initiative consists of the six founding members Evonik Industries, BASF, Bayer, Henkel, Lanxess and Solvay. Today, 23 members are working together in the initiative. Early 2019, Wanhua Chemical joined the initiative as the first Chinese chemical company.
