For the first time, the rating agency EcoVadis has awarded Evonik's sustainability performance with a platinum rating. In the previous six years, the company has always been valued with a gold rating.

Ecovadis' Sustainability Assessment judges the sustainability performance of companies in the dimensions: "environment", "labor and human rights", "ethics" and "sustainable procurement". In addition, information from more than 2,500 publicly available sources is included in the assessment.

The newly introduced Platinum Rating allows for a more precise differentiation of companies’ performance.

Evonik is a founding member of the "Together for Sustainability" (TfS) initiative of the chemical industry and is evaluated annually by the "Sustainability Assessment" of EcoVadis, which carries out the assessments as a partner of the initiative.

The aim of the TfS initiative is to increase transparency and sustainability in global supply chains through consistent supplier assessments, audits and trainings. Initially consisting of the six founding members Evonik, BASF, Bayer, Henkel, Lanxess and Solvay, the initiative now has a total of 29 members worldwide.
